Oils to the Rescue
I hadn't realized how long it has been since my last post. What a week it has been.
I have to brag about my oils again. I have several spine issues and because of these am prone to headaches and migraines. Headaches I typically can ride out or get rid of with an OTC med. Migraines, on the other hand, are a different beast. I've been prescribed several abortives (meds taken once a migraine has started to abort it) over the years, but haven't liked any of them.
While they do help stop a migraine that has started, the side effects are often worse than the migraine itself.
I came down with one on Saturday morning. I had been feeling awful all week due to another issue and one hit me out of nowhere. It was one of those where you nearly run to a dark room and bury your face in your hands or a pillow to block out whatever light might be filtering through the curtains. My sweet husband came up to see what was wrong with me and through my sobbing I somehow choked out, "I can't really talk right now.."
Fernando is the ultimate researcher. If you're ever in the market for a product, appliance, anything... and want to know the pros/cons of different models out there, he's your man. He somehow deciphered my sob/speak and immediately started looking up protocols for migraines.
This is impressive for two reasons: first, he knew to search for migraine info, not headache. There is a difference. Second, this is the man who looked at me like I was crazy when I first expressed interest in the company and wanted to sign up as a consultant just to get discounts on the products. He found a protocol for direct application and one for diffusing and started both.
Two hours later, my migraine was gone.
Not just subsided or better, but GONE.
Another first.
Usually I have residual pain and/or tension with rebound headaches later in the day or day after once I've had a migraine.
Not this time.
When I got out of the bed two hours after he worked his oil magic, all pain was gone. It's now the end of the second day and still no rebound. To me, that is absolutely amazing. No over the counter or prescription med has ever done that for me before.
Oh, and I even did things afterwards like run a vacuum and carpet cleaner, clean my house, and hosted four friends for dinner and a movie that night.
Every week I'm amazed by something new I have learned or a new remedy I've found. I so want to spread the word.
